Why does January always feel like it's one hundred years long?😅

No kidding.

This month has been a blur. Lots of long hours, yet it’s flying by and heart decorations keep popping up all over my house.

Madness.

As mentioned last week, the daily writing for Ship 30 for 30 continues.

I’m burning the candle at both ends, but enjoying the process as I try to build the habit, be less perfectionist, and see if something sticks. My hope is writing consistently and exploring ideas will eventually manifest into opportunities to build community and generate alternate income.

If I write it, they will come?

Question of the Week:

What is one seed you want to plant in 2023?

Essay of the Week:

At the start of the year, I always think of annual goals, but are those effective at changing trajectory?

Instead, I recently had this question posed to me:
What is one seed you want to plant in 2023?

This is what I find appealing about it:
• It is a path question. It changes the time horizon from an annual goal to a multi-year or lifetime ambition. Where do I feel alive?
• It invites ambitious thinking. Where can I start putting my toes into the water? I need no prior experience or credentials.
• It's low-risk and exploratory. If a plant fails to grow, you cull it and plant another. The cost of failure is minimal, but the yield can be exponential.

To wrestle with this question, I've been trying to have conversations with others, write about it, and let it stew in my brain to see where it marinates.

My initial response is earning a dollar independent of a W2 job and heavily watering the relationship seeds I've previously thrown down (and, maybe, that's a follow-on question to ask each year?).

What is one seed you're trying to plant in 2023?
