Leading Thoughts #79: I took Nate Kadlac's two-day Approachable Design Workshop. It was one of those rare courses you walk away knowing you got more than your money’s worth. I learned design and got a mini-therapy session, all at the same time.
Any logos that stand out? There's a few I like, but still playing...
We created everything in Figma and copied primary colors from our visual board. The accent colors are chosen based upon that. Nate's guide for choosing colors: https://planyournext.com/p/choose-colors-part-1?s=r
The logos were made through manipulating, tracing, and mimicking shapes from the visual board. Then just playing. Really simple, but hard to explain without a demo.
He's about to do an email series of 20 days of 20-minute design activities. I think it'll be worthwhile. Learning through doing.
Wow great logos. That would be useful to know. How exactly did you create those logos as well the decision making for colors?
Exciting to see your future progress and improvements with the new branding.

2,7,9 are my favorite. It has the three hills which reminds me of your family.
Interesting that pointed you to family.
I like those ones, too. I like that each triangle is higher like you're going to new heights. The circles are cool, but not as unique.
Perfect, I’ll sign up.
So fun to spend a weekend with you! And I already love the new background of this newsletter 🙂
Baby steps! Next up, headers.
